KWZ Iron Gall Ink 60 ml
These are innovative inks for fountain pens, inspired by archival inks from gallons, but produced from pure chemicals and dyes. Innovation concerns the method of ink stabilization, thanks to which it is completely safe for pens, while maintaining a beautiful saturated color. Notes written by iron gall ink retain partial water resistance, so even though we can wash out the dye from the paper, the iron-gall component is permanently bonded to the paper. The more component, the greater the water resistance.
In this line we can distinguish three groups of colors of inks, which will differ in content of the iron-gall component:
- iron gall blue-black color - is the only one with the highest content of the component from the palette, whose waterproofness can be compared with archival inks, is also resistant to popular "highlighters"
- iron gall mandarin color and Aztec gold - have a minimum component content, so the water resistance is small, we call them light gall inks
- the remaining 18 colors have an intermediate component content, i.e. a partial water resistance
All gallic inks are naturally characterized by darkening during writing as a result of reaction with oxygen, which for many is a very nice effect that makes writing more pleasant. When using iron-gall inks in pens, it is worth remembering about the proper hygiene of the pen. If the pen is not often used, it is recommended to rinse it so that the ink does not dry out completely in the pen, as it is more difficult to wash off the dried residue than with standard inks.
